Spring (March–May): The best overall season. Wildflowers carpet the Galilee, temperatures are 60–80°F, and crowds are moderate (except Easter week). This is when Israel is at its most beautiful. Prices are peak season.

Summer (June–August): Hot (85–100°F), especially in Jerusalem and the desert. The Galilee and coast are pleasant. Crowds thin after mid-June when European school groups leave. Prices drop slightly. Good for groups who don't mind heat.

Fall (September–November): Excellent. The heat breaks in October, the light turns golden, and the major Jewish holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot) add cultural richness. October is arguably the best single month to visit. Prices are moderate.

Winter (December–February): Cool and rainy (45–60°F), but uncrowded and affordable. Christmas in Bethlehem is magical if you can handle the cold. January–February offer the lowest prices and the most availability. Snow is rare but possible in Jerusalem.

Our recommendation for most church groups: late March, October, or early November.
