Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. If it expires within 8 months of your trip, renew it now — processing currently takes 6–8 weeks (or 2–3 weeks expedited). US citizens do not need a visa for Israel for stays under 90 days.

Israel entry: Since 2022, all visitors must complete an online entry form (ETA-IL) at least 72 hours before arrival. It's free and takes 5 minutes. Your tour operator will send you the link and instructions.

Jordan extension: If your trip includes Jordan, a visa is required. For groups entering through organized border crossings, the visa is typically arranged by the Jordanian tour operator and costs approximately $60–75 per person (included in your trip cost).

Passport stamps: Israel no longer stamps passports (since 2013). You'll receive a paper entry card instead. Jordan does stamp passports. If you have concerns about future travel to countries that restrict visitors with Israeli or Jordanian stamps, discuss this with your travel advisor.

Keep copies: Photograph your passport data page and store it in your phone and email. Leave a photocopy with someone at home.
