A typical Holy Land tour involves 4–6 miles of walking per day, often on uneven surfaces: cobblestone streets, dirt paths, ancient steps, and rocky terrain. Some days are more demanding (Masada, Petra, Old City) and some are lighter (boat rides, museum visits).
You need to be able to: Walk 2 miles without stopping. Climb 2–3 flights of stairs. Stand for 30 minutes at a time. Get on and off a bus without assistance. Walk on uneven surfaces without a walker (a cane is fine).
Accommodations we can make: The Masada cable car eliminates the hike. At Petra, horse carriages cover the first mile. Our buses have air conditioning for rest between sites. We build in free afternoons for rest. Your guide can suggest abbreviated routes at walking-intensive sites.
Accommodations we can't make: The Old City of Jerusalem has no wheelchair access for most of the route. Many churches have narrow staircases. Underground sites (Hezekiah's Tunnel, Western Wall Tunnels) are tight spaces.
Be honest with yourself and with us. We'd rather help you plan a trip you can enjoy than have you struggle through one that's beyond your capacity.
