Every year, hundreds of thousands of Christians wade into the Jordan River at Yardenit (near the Sea of Galilee) or Qasr el-Yahud (near Jericho) to be baptized or to renew their baptismal vows. The tradition stretches back to the earliest centuries of Christianity.

Whether you were baptized as an infant, as a teenager, or have never been baptized at all, stepping into the Jordan is a moment of profound spiritual reset. The water isn't symbolic — it's the same river Joshua led Israel across into the Promised Land, the same river where Naaman was healed, the same water that parted for Elijah and Elisha.

If you choose to be baptized, your group leader or pastor will typically lead the service. White robes are provided at both sites. The moment is deeply personal — many travelers describe it as the single most meaningful experience of their entire trip. Come with an open heart and let the water do its ancient work.
